Aim of the subject:
Aim of the prerequisite course is to design, develop and deepen foreign students' cultural and communicative competence and willingness to work in multicultural environment. The aim is to polish their skills in using the Estonian language level A1-A2 and identify problems related to the speciality in Estonian language.
Content: Language learning is based on the CEFR content (A1-A2) – development of all four foreign language dimensions (listening, reading, speaking, writing). Topics related to student’s person and profession, native country and cultural history. Learning outcomes:
Student - can understand the main content of short, simple sentences; - can understand the expressions which are related to important area for him; - expresses himself in everyday communicative situations and familiar topics; - is able to take notes and write a very simple text.
Assessment:
I semester: pass/fail exam. Student participation (80%) in lectures and positive test results are taken into account.
II semester: examination. Examination requirement:positive test results. Examination mark shall consist of: - A written test, - Reading and speaking tasks, - Participation in lectures at least 80%.
