Aim of the subject:
The purpose of the subject is to provide an overview of EAMT study organization for newly registered students, to introduce students' rights and obligations and the academy's support systems. It also introduces the possibilities of entering the music and theatre labor market and various forms of entrepreneurship, reveals the nature of entrepreneurial behavior, and gives an overview of the institutional structure of the Estonian music and theater sector.
Content: Basics of study organization: curriculum, subject, ECTS, academic calendar, timetable, study management system, student's rights and obligations. Student councelling and advice, self-support methods, supporting a safe learning environment, equal treatment. Use of the library (collections, catalogs, electronic databases). Institutions and structure of the performing arts sector, different opportunities to enter the labor market; nature and basic concepts of entrepreneurship, threats and opportunities in entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial behavior and lifestyle, failure and coping with change; knowledge, skills and attitudes of an entrepreneurial person. Learning outcomes:
A student who has passed the subject:
- is familiar with EAMT study organization and support systems;
- is aware of the principles and measures of equal treatment;
- can use the library and electronic catalog ESTER;
- has basic knowledge of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial behavior;
- orients himself in the landscape of Estonian performing arts;
- knows the basic forms of small and micro enterprises;
- has an idea of the legal status of the creative person.
Assessment:
Written test on knowledge of the basics of EMTA study organization and entrepreneurship.
Assessment criteria:
In order to pass the subject, the student must have a satisfactory level of orientation
- in EAMT study organization and study support systems;
- in the rules for using the EAMT library;
- in the basics of entrepreneurship.

All study materials (EAMT regulation of studies, library rules, etc.) are available to students in the Moodle system.
