Aim of the subject:  Language skills on CEFR level A2. Extend considerably the active and passive vocabulary (related to culture, education profession, environment etc.). Introduce the culture, geography, history, and customs of German-speaking countries. Prerequisite for participation is proficiency in German at A2 level.

Content: Integrated development of the proficiency of the four language skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) in accordance with the B1 language level.

Learning outcomes:  After attending the course, the student can
Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. 
Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest (music).
Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Assessment: 

Assessment criteria:  1st semester ungraded exam: 4 written tests
2nd semester graded exam
Prerequisite for the exam are positive results in 4 written tests during the semester
B1 level test: 4 modules- Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

Student participation (80%) in lectures, performing the given tasks and positive results are taken into account.
