Aim of the subject:
Aim of the prerequisite course is to design, develop and deepen Asian students' cultural and communicative competence and willingness to work in multicultural environment.
The aim is to polish their skills in using the English language level A2 and identify problems related to the speciality in a foreign language. Content: Language learning is based on the CEFR content (A2) – development of all four foreign language dimensions (listening, reading, speaking, writing). Topics related to student’s person and profession, native country and cultural history with the glimpse into Europe and its cultural issues. Learning outcomes: Student • can understand the main content of short, simple sentences; • can understand the expressions which are related to important area for him; • expresses himself in everyday communicative situations and familiar topics; • is able to take notes and write a simple text. Assessment: I semester: pass/fail exam. Student participation (80%) in lectures, performing the given tasks and positive test results are taken into account. II semester: examination. Examination requirement: the completion of all tasks given during the semester and the performance of tests. Examination mark consists of: - Results of a written test, - Reading and speaking tasks, - Participation in lectures at least 80%. Assessment criteria: I semester: pass/fail. Student participation in lectures (80%) and positive results of given tasks and tests are taken into account. II semester: "excellent (A)" – 90-100 %, all parts of the examination show excellent knowledge, errors do not occur. "very good (B)"- 80-90 %, very good knowledge. "good (C)"- 70-80 %, good knowledge. "satisfactory (D)"- 60-70%, sufficient knowledge. "sufficient (E)"-50-60%, limited knowledge. "insufficient (F)" – less than 50%, exam is not passed.
